Day 2: Sun Moon Lake
Took a cab to Taichung Main Station. All thanz to CP, who scrabbled around the station to scout for the most economical way in terms of timing and fare to shui2 li3.
At the railway station
The railway train ticket which we din get to keep
Shui1 Li Station
The surrounding
From Shui2 li3, we took a mini bus that run through hills before reaching a town by the Sun Moon Lake. While CP tried to figure out the way to our lodging which is located some where on a hill, a friendly cab driver offer to drive us uphill for NT$300.
Our lodging for the 2nd night was a wooden house set in a very nice environment. A house just for the 3 of us. It has a bedroom with 2 queen sized beds, a living room with TV and 4 armchairs and a washroom. A very cosy ambience with orangie lightings and cooling weather. CP remarked that it’s a very gd place to read his book.
Nice bedroom of ours
A spacious living room, all to our selves
After depositing our stuffs in the house, we cant wait for explore the surroundings. Visited the butterfly garden near our house. Not very fantestic, guess due to the poor maintence, didn’t spot too many different species.
Spotted 2 species of butterflies.
The white cotton wool look-alike are where butterflies gonna come out from
We rented bicycles for NT$120 each and must return b4 nightfall. Cyclied downhill to a nearest sightseeing spot. The road was quite bumpy especially as we had to cycle at the edge of the road. It was quite tiresome on those stony path. At times, I tend to swerve onto the road. I realised that was kinda dangerous especially around the bends of the road and that’s why CP, who was cyclying behind Jess and me, kept calling us to keep to the side from behind.
Upon reaching our destination, we took snap some photos of the earth water pouring out into the lake.
CP managed to capture some very nice photos of the sunset.
Jess and I had a hard time cycling uphill back to our house. I muz say, we are gals with lousy stamina, feel guilty to have held up CP. In the end we gave up cycling, instead, we pushed our bikes back.
That night we decided to spend NT$3000 to engage on the same friendly cab driver to bring us around Sun Moon Lake the following day as it was kinda inaccessible to tarvel round the lake. So we had instant mee for dinner to save some pennies.
