Day7: Hong Kong- North Point

Board the large bus to airport. We were scheduled to board the plane at 2.45pm. Jess and CP did some shopping at the duty-free shops while I looked after the bags and waited at a bench. I’m PENNILESS… used up all my NT$$. Haha. It was still sunny when we touch down on Hong Kong. Clusters and clusters of people greeted us. The Airport seemed to be forever so bustling. We took the sky train to the custom and joined in the queue to get our passport ‘chopped’. Took a bus to NorthPoint, where our hotel was. During the bus journey, it started raining heavily.. moreover its was peak hour when we were on the road. JAMMED JAMMED… it was already 8pm when we reach our hotel. It dawn to me that how scare land is in HongKong. Our hotel room only half the size of our hostel. A 15inch tv was shoved into a hole beside our only Queen sized bed. It was so damn cramp that the 3 of us cant walk around the room without saying: Excuse me, can let me cross first. CP initially wanted to sleep on the floor, but there wasn’t even space. Well, we had to bear with it as we were tight on budget. And its not very cheap a nite here either. Each of us have to chip in HK$420each for the 3 nites in HK.

A vast difference compared to Taiwan.

Transport was obviously expensive too. MTR ride for a few stations cost us HK$11 each. Anyway, we decided to walk around the area and scout for good restaurant to yumcha the next morning.

We had roasted half duck, a plate of oily veg and 3 bowls of rice for dinner.

Guess what.. never had we expect that each bowl of rice cost HK$6!! Thus the more I have to finish my NT$6 bowl of rite. Dinner was good. I like this special sauce for the duck. The setting of the shop was like a scene from ‘Zhen1 Qing2’… the roasted duck shop where the family owns. Rain never stop. There wasn’t any covered walkway. We had to carry our umbrella everywhere we go.
