We finally had our 2nd class gathering, since we were separated for varsity 5+ hefty years ago. It was actually my 1st in attendance. a wk ago, upon receiving the sms from XL, i kinda vacillated for a minute... i could simply give excuses to condone my absence.
My xenophobia recurred. Not exactly 'foreigners' but i had to pin the blame squarely on not-in-contact for years. i must admit i not those who are gd at keeping a relationship with people. very seldom will i make the first move and ring old frenz up. Well, perhaps i'm just unfriendly and a lousy frenz. Remedy: stay in touch! If i were to give it a miss, i wont be able to step out of the circle of solitude which i drew myself. And ultimately i will lose all kinds of relationship which i fostered over many years.
The thought of losing friendship ameliorate my antipathy towards meeting frenz whom i nv meet up for years. I turned up. I NEVER regret it.
As usual, many were late. Me, the notorious late queen was in fact the second person to reach Marche. 12 of us turned up. Marche was surprisely crowded that nite, not to mention its a tuesday night. we had to raise our voice to talk or rather shout across the table. As our lungs were at the verge of bursting, we decided to have a drink at TCC. Everyone were very involved in the conversation. it seemed that many heart began its long overdue thaw that night.
Jessica, who used to sit beside me is still very like herself.. i saw the same chatty tactful girl in her. Ying2 is still as pretty as before. SY got those pro, executive look, perhaps bcoz she juz rushed down from her workplace, sheryl still has this X factor in her... kenny grew fatter since i last saw him in ntu 2 sem ago and he still had a knack for making us burst into laughter, johnson and cheekin had their styled.. the rest looked kinda the same.
Thanz to XL who had made this gathering a very successful. She was later crowned as the chairperson of S8 alumini. johnson shud be the vice, he has gladly contributed the idea of Sept 8 as our annual reunion day.
