visit to NTU
Tuesday, July 26, 2005

I was at Queenstown in the morning. Given its proximity to NTU, decided to pay a visit. It was second day of school. Went up to Yv’s hall to get my HRM text and then to North Spine via shutter bus to pass it to PP who was having lecture. No more container for 20cent coins on the bus. They should have lifted the bus fare long ago. We are paying so much school fee a semester and yet still want us, the poor students to pay for the shutter service. Anyway, I was glad that undergrads of NTU now share the same privilege as those from NUS by lightened the burden of paying for shutter service.
There was a tinge of nostalgia looking at hordes of teens milled around canteen A, outside Library 1 and the LTs.
I didnt managed to see michelle as she was rushing off to give tuition. Heard from PP and Amy that Michelle looked very much slimmer than before. Could it be the wonders of Jumpu wraps? Nah, those were results from her recent exercising session. Upon hearing that, I must be more determined to adhere to my morning jogging routine.
Amy had a new haircut for school! She was actually quite glum about her ultra short hair and short fringe styled by a trainee at Toni and Guy academy. Amy ah, -although it may deemed as if you had a haircut that gone wrong- quoted from Gwen, after taking a second glimpse, it dont seemed too bad lah. It was certainly a very FRESH look for you. You had been wearing those austere black tresses for just too long. All you need now is some hair wax to do a little magic, and you could be one of those carrying the trendiest hairstyle. Remember, there are no ugly duckling in the world, only lazy piggy ya!
Amy and I then met up with Cheryl at city hall. Cher did her retail therapy at her favourite hunt, FLASH n SPLASH. Our stomach groaned for a while. Amy and I decided to settle for a honey and cream waffle at the newly opened Gelare along city link while Cher, a very health conscious gal was happy with her apple juice. The waffle smelled good and taste great. Cher then received a call from an agency. They told her to go down immediately for an interview for a temporary data-entry job at Pan Pacific Hotel. The interview was initially scheduled on the next day. She was clad in short pink skirt and open toe sandals that day, how could she ever get through an interview in those casual outfits. Moreover, it’s a hotel, it is important to dress in formal wear. The agency was quite firm that she had to make a trip down today. We thought, aiya, since we were already at city link, just go and try lor. The outcome of the interview was devastating. The questions asked were as though she was interviewing for those permanent executive positions. Poor cher, being at a disadvantage for not in tip top condition was bombarded with many ludicrous questions. Come-on lah, it is only a temporary data-entry job, is it necessary to go till the extent of asking those questions. Anyway, cher dont give it a damn.
We then had a great dinner at NYDC. Had Mushroom Madness pizza, beef baked rice and Tango Mango cheesecake topped generously with 2 scoops of mango and chocolate ice-creams. But my all-time-favourite is still the Boney Cake. We each had a complimentary drink from KS. Thanz a lot gal! SJ and me had sprite with scoop of ice-cream while Amy had MMT, a very rich chocolatetie drink. A very satisfying dinner indeed!!
Mango Tango with 2 scoops if ice cream!!
