another interview
Thursday, August 11, 2005
I was invited for another interview again! But it was from a company of all I had sent my resumes to, that I desired the least. It was located at TUAS! It took me 30-45mins of bus journey from boon lay interchange. Well, many frenz flashed me with those questioning and who-ask-u looks, whenever I complained to them about how ULU and remote this company i went for interview was. WHY of earth I applied for jobs at TUAS when I stayed in TPY. Well, you see, I was soo discouraged by ratio of amount of resumes I had sent to the number of interviews I was invited for, that I just applied to any company who are headhunting for fresh grads of my course regardless of the location. Guess I just a little desperate and a little tired of slacking at home. Every morning or evening when I see people gg for work or off work, I thought having to secure a job is such a blessing. When will my turn comes? Right now, I just want to get a job and gain experience. Then look for a job at my desired company. EXPERIENCE is such a precious and important commodity that money cant buy. So I always tell myself I may be overworked or unpaid, but at least I get a taste of the real action.
Anyway, this company is a Singapore co. I think should be a SME. As I alighted from the 192, I saw this blue hue building down a street, with the name of the company printed on it. I happily walked towards it. Upon setting my foot into the gate, a security in the booth, told me that this is the warehouse. The office and lab building is down the main road, off the next street. Careless me, I should have pay attention to the street name instead. I make a few wrong turns b4 I finally found that building. Although there are a panel of 3 interviewers, I wasn’t really taken aback, perhaps, once bitten twice shied. i was able to marvel at how am I a suitable candidate for the job better, but I still can deny the fact that I had zero knowledge of the industry the co was doing. I had a competitor for the post and I bet the interviewers will see him as a better choice. Partly bcoz he is a MALE and that he seemed to have more knowledge in HDD than me. Anyway, perhaps its just a blessing in disguise that I did not get the job. The place is at the outskirts of spore and its very very inaccessible. Even the only SBS bus service isn’t frequent at all. I think the frequency is something like 20mins. Anyway, I hail a cab back to Jurong Point to grab my lunch. It was unbelievable that my cab fee is a whopping $6.60.
